BRUDEN Coffee
From Illustration to Brand Identity
Concept branding for a fictional coffee company built around a hero illustration I originally created, inspired by an Adam-and-Eve narrative. The project explores how a single expressive, hand-drawn visual can drive a cohesive brand identity, including a logo, coffee packaging, cup design, and social media templates across digital and print applications.

The Concept
I wanted to explore how an existing piece of artwork could be repurposed into something beyond its original intention. Rather than creating an entirely new illustration for a brand, I challenged myself to build a visual identity around artwork that already had its own story and character. With coffee as the product focus and the Adam-and-Eve narrative as inspiration, I developed the name BRUDEN, combining the words Brew and Eden. The name connected the product to the original illustration while giving the fictional company its own identity.

Design Thought Process

My approach began with the illustration itself. I wanted to see how its existing visual language could influence the overall direction of a brand, rather than treating the artwork as a decorative element added at the end.
From there, I explored how to extend that identity into multiple applications while maintaining a consistent look and feel. This meant considering how typography, color, composition, and the hero illustration could work together across coffee packaging, cups, and digital content.
A key consideration was balancing the expressive nature of the artwork with the functionality of the designs. The illustration needed to remain recognizable while allowing space for branding, product information, and other supporting elements.
Ultimately, this project became an exercise in creative adaptability and visual storytelling. It demonstrates how an existing artistic concept can be reimagined and developed into a broader, cohesive brand system.
