The Care Q
Designing a More Approachable Healthcare Identity
Inspo

Project Description
Brand identity development for The Care Q, a platform dedicated to collecting free healthcare resources for physicians to share with their patients. The project focused on creating a professional yet approachable visual identity that communicates trust, care, and accessibility.
I developed a logo inspired by the Rod of Asclepius, a recognized symbol of medicine and healing, alongside a color palette of greens, plums, and blues. The identity was extended across digital and print materials to establish a cohesive visual presence.

The Design Challenge
The challenge was finding a balance between the professionalism associated with healthcare and the welcoming nature of a resource-centered platform. The identity needed to feel credible enough for medical professionals while remaining approachable to patients from different backgrounds. I wanted to avoid an overly clinical appearance without losing the visual cues that help audiences immediately recognize its connection to healthcare.
Design Thought Process
My approach began by considering how recognizable medical symbolism could be incorporated into a contemporary brand identity.
I chose the Rod of Asclepius as the foundation of the logo because of its established connection to medicine and healing. The goal was to create a recognizable symbol that reinforced the platform's purpose while giving The Care Q its own visual identity.
Color also played an important role in shaping the brand's personality. I explored a combination of greens, plums, and blues to move beyond conventional healthcare branding while maintaining a sense of professionalism. Together, these colors create a visual balance between warmth, stability, and approachability.
As the identity developed, I considered how the logo, typography, colors, and supporting graphic elements would translate across different formats. Maintaining a consistent visual hierarchy and clean layouts was important for keeping information organized and easy to navigate.

Design Application & Outcome
The resulting identity provides The Care Q with a cohesive visual foundation that can be applied across digital assets and printed materials.
By combining familiar medical symbolism with a more contemporary visual approach, the design supports the platform's mission of making healthcare resources easier to share and recognize.
The project demonstrates my approach to purpose-driven branding, where visual decisions are informed by the organization's mission, intended audiences, and practical communication needs.
